A single barrel bourbon sour built on New Hampshire flavors – pure maple syrup and fresh apple cider, finished with a cinnamon-dusted apple fan.
Ingredients
- 2 fluid ounces single barrel bourbon
- 0.8 fluid ounces fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 fluid ounces pure NH maple syrup (dark, robust grade)
- 1 fluid ounces fresh-pressed apple cider
- 2 dashes aromatic bitters
- 3 thin apple slices, fanned, for garnish
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon, for dusting
Steps
- Add single barrel bourbon, fresh lemon juice, NH maple syrup, apple cider, and aromatic bitters to a shaker with ice.
- Shake hard until well-chilled…about 15 seconds should do!
- Strain into a rocks glass over one large ice cube.
- Garnish with 3 thin apple slices, fanned & dusted lightly with ground cinnamon.
- Enjoy!
Notes
Dark, robust-grade maple syrup stands up to the bourbon better than lighter grades – and it’s the perfect excuse to use the real GOOD stuff. Fresh-pressed cider from a local orchard beats shelf-stable juice by a mile. For a fall variation, rim the glass with cinnamon sugar.
