What is a Spritzer Anyway?

Generally, the term spritzer refers to a beverage that mixes liquor or wine with seltzer, carbonated water, or sparkling wine. There are many commercially available spritzers on the market but you can easily make your own tailored to your own preferences.

Here are some ideas for you to try.

Wine Spritzer

3 ounces of aromatic white wine such as Riesling, Gewürztraminer or Sauvignon Blanc.

1 Ounce of club soda

Dash of orange or lemon bitters

Garnish: 1 orange or lemon twist

Add ice to a tall glass, pour in the wine and then the other ingredients and ENJOY!

Elderflower Liqueur and Prosecco

1 Ounce Elderflower liqueur

3 Ounces of Prosecco

In a champagne flute, add the elderflower liqueur and top with Prosecco.

You will see these on just about every table in outdoor restaurants and bars in Italy. It is a gorgeous coral hue and a perfect balance between sweet and bitter that is amazingly refreshing.

3 Ounces of Prosecco

2 Ounces of Aperol

1 Ounce of soda water

Garnish: Orange wheel

Fill a large wine glass full of ice and add all ingredients.
