Meet the Makers: Tamworth Distilling

Tamworth Distilling began making its mark in 2015. Founder Steven Grasse found Tamworth, an idyllic town in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, to be the perfect location for innovating and experimenting.

Today, the distillery draws inspiration and ingredients from the surrounding environment to craft a collection of uniquely flavored, “scratch made” spirits, including vodka, whiskey, gin, and infusions. From start to finish, each spirit is made from local, house-milled grain, pure White Mountain water, herbs and botanicals from the woods and their garden, and local fruits and vegetables. The 1,300-square foot distillery uses a 250-gallon copper still made by Kentucky’s Vendome Copper and Brass Works, a fourth-generation family business. Visitors say the still is hard to miss when you walk into the distillery. Recently, you might have heard of their newest limited release, crab whiskey, but New Hampshire Liquor & Wine Outlet sells their standard line up of great NH-made products all year!
