Blackberry Cabernet Smash (with Josh Cellars)

Looking for a bold and refreshing twist on your usual wine pour? This Blackberry Cabernet Smash combines the rich, fruit-forward notes of Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon with fresh berries, mint, and a citrusy kick for a vibrant summer cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 oz bourbon (optional for extra warmth and body)
  • 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)
  • 3–4 fresh blackberries (plus more for garnish)
  • 2–3 fresh mint leaves (plus a sprig for garnish)
  • Ice
  • Club soda (optional, for a lighter fizz)

Instructions:

  1. Muddle the blackberries and mint in a shaker until well broken down and fragrant.
  2. Add lemon juice, simple syrup, Cabernet Sauvignon, and bourbon (if using) to the shaker.
  3. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds.
  4. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Top with club soda if desired, for a sparkling finish.
  6. Garnish with a mint sprig and a couple of skewered blackberries.
