Happy Earth Day! Taking care of the planet we call home is important and many vineyards are working diligently to help keep our earth healthy. We have a wide selection of earth-friendly wines at many of our stores and in honor of Earth Day, we are sharing a few of our current favorites!
We are proud to carry many spectacular wines from the famous Jean-Charles Boissett’s Raymond Vineyards. Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley which is known for its high quality but also its biodynamic farming which is utilized in the production of all their wines. Two of our current favorites are the Raymond Generations Chardonnay and the Raymond Family Classic Cabernet Sauvignon.
We are also proud to carry many J. Lohr wines. In 2010, J. Lohr achieved Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing status following an extensive review of its vineyard and winery practices in environmental stewardship; relationships with employees, neighbors, and communities; water conservation; energy efficiency; healthy soils and other sustainability initiatives. Two of our favorite wines from their vineyard are J. Lohr Chardonnay Riverstone and J. Lohr Falcons Perch Pinot Noir.
We also carry many impressive wines from Benziger Family Winery who, since the 1990’s, has been known for their biodynamic viticulture. All of their estate vineyards are certified biodynamic, and all their wines are either biodynamic, sustainable, or organic. Some of our favorites are Benziger Merlot and Benziger Sauvignon Blanc North Coast.
Black Box wines require less energy to produce and ship around the globe, meaning they have a much smaller carbon footprint than most bottled wines. In addition to this, their boxes are completely recyclable and produce less waste because they don’t use any glass. A few of our favorites are their Black Box Chardonnay and their Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon.
Another great earth-friendly choice is any wine from Bonterra Vineyards. They are not only organic but also biodynamic. At Bonterra, they have a deep respect for the environment and farm using regenerative practices which enrich the biodiversity of their vineyards. Two of our favorite wines from Bonterra are their Organic Chardonnay and their classic Organic Cabernet Sauvignon.
